The Many Incarnations of The Simpsons

This article is part of a series I call “The Many Incarnations of… ”, a column which will chronicle the different game titles that have been released over the years featuring a central character or theme. Pac-Man is here to provide “color commentary,” and Professor Pac-Man is on hand with interesting tidbits of trivia about each game!

The Simpsons

Aye Carumba! It looks like the only things Bart and I have in common is our skin tone and our uncanny wit! Wocka! Wocka!

From the desk of Professor Pac-Man: On each new ball in play, the ability to get a mystery bonus is awarded when the red light above the ramp is lit. The first time you hit the ramp Bart says "Go for the ramp, man!" Now you have approximately 8 seconds to hit the ramp again. If you hit it a mystery bonus is randomly selected.

The Simpsons

Now Homer is someone I can truly relate to. We're both yellow, round and love donuts! Wocka! Wocka!

From the desk of Professor Pac-Man: Both "The Simpsons" and "Aliens" arcade machines can be seen in the background of the 'Moe's Tavern Stage'. This is because Konami secured the rights to both The Simpsons and Aliens from 20th Century Fox.

The Simpsons Bowling

Bowlng? Come on Konami, how about something original! Even I have my own bowling game, and on a cellphone no less. Wocka! Wocka!

From the desk of Professor Pac-Man: The characters' uniforms were taken from The Simpsons episode entitled “Team Homer” originally aired on January 6, 1996. To unlock Grandpa Abe Simpson move the cursor up and down quickly at the character selection screen. Grandpa Abe will appear as a playable character!

The Simpsons Pinball Party

I think Bart said it best when he asked: "Is it just me, or are you guys getting tired of crazy adventures?" Wocka! Wocka!

From the desk of Professor Pac-Man: The Simpsons' creator Matt Groening and Bongo/Fox Studios developed the artwork for The Simpsons Pinball Party. The game also features original dialog performed by television cast members Nancy Cartwright, Hank Azaria and Dan Castellaneta.

As young Homer once said "When I grow up, I'm gonna have a huge castle, a pinball machine with infinity quarters, eight pairs of peanut butter and jelly pajamas…" I'll second that! Wocka! Wocka!
